Entry #75- Home Sweet Home

We had a great trip, but it's great to be home! Thank you so much for praying for me, our team, and my family. Kara managed to survive and all is well at home.

The trip itself was great, and I am certain your prayers played a huge part in that. Thanks for joining me on this journey. I am excited to see what God has in store for our church in this area.

For those of you that are new to the blog, feel free to continue to follow along on the rest of my life journeys. I am not always the most consistent of bloggers, but I would love to have you be a part. Thanks again for caring enough to follow along.

Until next time...

Entry #72- A Full Weekend

We had a very full weekend here in Singapore. Which incidentally is got its name from the one of the founders of the city. He was roaming around the island and thought he saw a great big lion. Singa=Lion and Pura=City. So Singapore it lion city.

On Saturday, we were at Mount Faber again. We had another good day handing out about 125 packets. It is still very hard for me to get my head around the fact that about 500 Mainland Chinese are reading the Bible for the first time. I know its probably not all of them, but I am betting its a large majority. It is so great to watch them walk away and immediately take the Bible out of the bag and peruse through it. I saw one young lady, who did not take a bag, telling another couple of young ladies, who did take bags, that the Bible was about Yesu. They did not quite understand until she outstretched her arms to her side. They then seem to know immediately who she was talking about.

We will never know the full extent of our efforts here. They estimate that each Bible that makes it back to the mainland reaches another 10 people. Maybe someday in heaven, God will reveal to us the fruits of our efforts. Be praying that God's Word would not return void. Pray for the longevity of the Bibles. Perhaps some of them will be passed on from generation to generations. Ask that the Father would use the Bible and the other materials to draw many of the Chinese to the saving knowledge of his son Jesus Christ.

Yesterday, Sunday, we went to worship at Bartley Christian Church. We had a great time, but I sure missed being at SSBC. It was great to be worshipping with people from so many different ethnic backgrounds, but I really love worshipping with my family at SSBC. I am always reminded when I am away how lucky I am to be a part of such a great church, to be lead by such great leaders, and to be working with such incredible men of God.

This morning, we went for another round of distribution. It was rainy and very slow. We handed out about 25 or so Bibles.

This afternoon, we met with leaders from the local Baptist seminary, the Singaporean Baptist Convention, and local churches. We had a very good time listening to how God is working in Singapore. The president of the seminary even took time out to meet with us. They are very appreciative of us being here and hopeful to partner with us and the SBTC in the future.

Well, only one more full day and then a long day of flights. Will you being praying now for our journey home. Pray that we will not get caught up in all this swine flu stuff.

Thanks again for following along on they journey.

Until next time...
